As the premiere of Dispatches From Elsewhere approaches, a new video teasing Andre 3000‘s character has been released.

In the almost three-minute-long clip, 3000 breaks down his character Fredwynn, who he describes as the show’s “conspiracy theorist.”

“He has to figure it out, whatever it is, and he’s just a stickler for getting to the bottom of things no matter what it is,” Andre explains in the video. “He is taking the game too seriously, but at the same time he’s not.”

The video also includes scenes from the show featuring Andre as Fredwynn alongside the show’s main group: Peter (Jason Segel), Janice (Sally Field), and Simone (Eve Lindley). Segel, the show’s creator and executive producer, also discusses why he wanted 3000 for the series in the clip, simply explaining: “I was really interested in spending time with Andre.”

Prior to this, 3000 acted in the 2019 Claire Denis-directed sci-fi drama, High Life, alongside Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche, and Mia Goth.

In related news, 3000 spoke with Rick Rubin in December last year about a number of topics including what music he has been listening to, being diagnosed with social anxiety and hypersensitivity disorder, and why he hasn’t been making any music.

“My focus is not there. My confidence is not there,” he said. “I tinker a lot…I haven’t been motivated to do a serious project. I’d like to, but it’s just not coming.”

Dispatches From Elsewhere arrives on AMC March 1.
