Can’t speak for the rest of you, but the single most fascinating aspect of Anderson .Paak‘s ascent from virtual unknown to virtual ubiquity is that his breakout album, Malibu, wasn’t what put him on the map. Rather, it was his collaborative work with fellow genius, Knxwledge, that caught the ear of Dr. Dre and put this whole thing in motion, setting the stage for a quantum leap in public and critical reception, and landing him in the co-pilot seat for Dre’s first album in 16 years, Compton.
And while the world has really only been treated to a pair of selections from the effort, it appears there’s much more on the way, as .Paak confirmed this weekend that the duo’s long-awaited full-length has reached completion, and as we’d all expected, “It’s a masterpiece.” No date has been revealed for the Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge’s NxWorries unveiling, but strictly based on the potency of “Suede” and “Link Up,” we can’t help but agree…for now. Might be a good time to give “Suede”s video another run to catch that syrupy outro if you’re itching for something new to hold you over.
