The Tested, a powerful movie that focuses on the trauma of losing a child to police violence, will be available to stream on UMC (Urban Movie Channel) starting on March 10th.

The Tested stars Aunjanue Ellis (Birth of a Nation, The Help) as Darralyn Warren, a mother who is trying to keep it together after one of her sons is gunned down by the police, while her other child seems to be embracing the street life. It should go without saying that the movie deals with very real, relevant topics.

The Russell Costanzo-directed movie, which is based on a 2005 short film, got a strong independent buzz in 2011 after the film won Grand Jury Prizes for Best Film and Best Narrative Feature.

Check out the trailer below and look out for The Tested on UMC starting on March 10th.
