If there was any show that was integral to the lives of black children growing up in the '90s, it was surely Kenan & Kel. The iconic Nickelodeon sitcom showed the daily misadventures of Kenan Rockmore and Kel Kimble, two high school teenagers that always managed to find themselves in some pretty bad situations. Still, watching the pair's undeniable comedic chemistry was always entertaining, whether Kel felt guilty for dropping a screw in some tuna or Kenan destroying a crush's sweater.

Now, 20 years later (the television series celebrates its 20th anniversary today), there's a possibility of a Kenan & Kel sequel. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell both look back on the show and its timeless impact. But the best part of the piece might be when Thompson discusses a prospective comeback for the series. "I wish we could just pick up and do Kenan & Kel: The Grown-Up Years, getting everyone back working together," Thompson said. "I feel like it would be an awesome moment for everybody."

This comes a year after Thompson and Mitchell reunited on The Tonight Showand resurrected their iconic Good Burger sketch. The former reprised his role as Lester Oaks, Construction Worker, while the latter returned as Good Burger cashier Ed.

During the chat with EW Mitchell also discusses the longevity of his infamous "Who loves Orange Soda?" catchphrase.

"When my wife and I go out to eat, it doesn't matter what type of restaurant we're at, whether it's a five-star restaurant or a burger shack, people go crazy if I don't get an orange soda," Mitchell said. "And they're like, 'Oh, what are you going to drink? Orange soda?' And they just crack up, but I enjoy it. I'm happy that people enjoy the show and are still drinking orange soda."

Aside from having one of the greatest theme songs of all time (courtesy of Coolio), Kenan & Kel ended its run with 62 episodes and one TV movie. "I don’t think any of us knew how big that was going to be, even today I still get that," Mitchell said in regards to the success of the show.

A reboot or spin-off series of Kenan & Kel would be awesome. If Fuller House and Girl Meets World exist, surely we can get a brand new take on one of the greatest teen sitcoms of all time.
