6ix9ine was caught on camera choking a 16-year-old fan.

Controversial Brooklyn rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has one less legal issue to worry about.

According to TMZ, the rapper has a misdemeanor assault case against him dropped. The case involved 6ix9ine choking a 16-year-old fan at the Galleria Mall in Houston, Texas.

There were two reasons why this case was dismissed; one, moving Tekashi “is now a security risk,” due to the rapper becoming a federal government informant, testifying against alleged gang members he was once associated with. And, two, because the teenager in the case, Santiago Albarran, requested to have 6ix9ine's charges dropped.

On January 6th, 2018, Tekashi caught Albarran secretly recording him and his crew. This led to 6ix9ine demanding the footage and then putting his hands around his throat. By July he was charged on misdemeanor assault charges.

By October, Albarran was writing a letter to letter to the Harris County District Attorney’s office, asking for the charges against 6ix9ine to be dropped. (Interestingly enough, the two posed for a photo together at the courtroom.)

6ix9ine has still yet to be charged in his racketeering case. He is expected to get a lenient sentence due to his cooperation with the feds.
