Rapper Melii Says She Backed Out of Meek Mill Deal Due to “Uncomfortable Situations”

Melii has some troubling allegations.

Up-and-coming New York rapper Melii has announced that she will be signing with Tory Lanez‘s One Umbrella label. She was expected to sign with Meek Mill, after making her star-making appearance on his last album, Championships. In a recently deleted Instagram comment, Mill called Melii’s choice to side with Lanez “a corny ass move on both y’all end.”

Melii took to her Instagram story to defend her decision, as well as to clear the air around why she departed from Meek’s The Motivation Tour.

“I never intended to snake anyone. If anything I tried my best to work around many things that put me in uncomfortable situations. As a woman a lot of things I stood for weren’t there so I took the high road [and] gracefully removed myself,” she said.

In a separate Instagram comment, Melii said that Meek was making sexual advances towards her. She also said he would tell her that she  “was acting boujee” and that she “was another Nicki Minaj:”

At another point, she responded to comments calling her ungrateful for the opportunity to open for Mill, recalling an instance when she was going to perform her collaboration with Mill (“Wit the Shits (W.T.S.)”):

Melii mentions that she attempted to hold a conversation about the tour situation, but didn’t receive any reciprocated effort from the team and ultimately decided that Lanez’ One Umbrella would be a better place for her to develop her artistry.

Melii just released her debut project phAses, which includes features from Lanez, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and Odalys.
