Watch Moses Sumney's Soaring 'Tiny Desk' Return

The singer performed three songs from his new album, græ, and the ever-resonant 2018 single "Rank and File."

Moses Sumney returned to NPR's Tiny Desk this week with a stunning performance from his corner of the internet.

Acclimating to the platform's newly recalibrated remote format, Sumney's already full-float and clutching his six-string as the set opens. He leads with three songs from his newly released double-album, græ, commencing the performance with "Bless Me," before breaking into "Me In 20 Years" and "Polly"; all standouts from the expansive 2020 project. And before it all settles, Sumney closes the performance with his jittery, clap-happy track, "Rank and File," which has only grown more resonant since its 2018 release.

Sumney is one of a handful of artists who've managed repeat Tiny Desk sessions. In his 2017 debut on the series, the singer and multi-instrumentalist appeared curled over an in-office piano and was accompanied by an elite ensemble, comprising Brandee Younger, Sam Gendel, and Mike Haldeman. His set follows recent at-home dispatches from Flatbush Zombies, Melanie Faye, John Legend, Tom Misch, Benny Sings, and more.
