Most of us know Nardwuar as the impossibly well-researched Human Serviette; a man whose interviews are equal parts exposé and early Christmas for his subject(s.)
This year marks the man’s 30th year of service in the thinning roster of venerable music journalists. In celebration, Canadian radio station CiTR 101.9 threw a 20-hour marathon of interviews, many of which appeared for the first time on their airwaves. What you may not know about the eccentrically curious Canadian: he’s the leader of Vancouver-based punk outfit, The Evaporators, and their shows are the stuff of legend. Naturally, Nardwuar and The Evaporators took the stage as the finale for his 30-year milestone, corralling the infamous and glowingly-positive, Lil B, who, of course, received a few gifts, and later, joined Nardwuar for a performance of The Evaporators’ “Eat To Win” that eventually leads to an impromptu and rare, shared crowd-surfing demonstration.
