Watch Harrison's Funky and Surreal Video for "Your Girl" [PREMIERE]

Toronto artist Harrison just dropped the music video for his latest single, "Your Girl."

The track's ethereal vocals atop Harrison's smooth but funky production make for a sugary sweet banger.

His project, Apricity, is slated for release October 12th via Last Gang. The 11-track project is a blend of funk and futuristic sounds, written, produced, performed and recorded entirely by Harrison. Defined as “the warmth of the sun in winter,” the title is representative of Harrison's emergence from depression in order to create.

Following lead singles “Celica Supra”— a thematic reprise of “Right Hook” that doubles as an ode to his dream car – and the spacious Daniela Andrade-assisted “Atmosphere,” Harrison keeps close to home for the entirety of Apricity with local collaborators IaamSaam and Matty Tavares (of Badbadnotgood) featuring on Cali inspired “Midnight Snack,” Talvi (of Prince Innocence) on “Mustang,” Ralph takes centerstage on “Your Girl” co-written by Prince DCF and Aaron Tiem (of Base Camp) on “Believe In Love.”

"Harrison clarified that he wanted something dark. Playing against tone and delivering the unexpected is our sweet spot. Given how strong the lyrics of the song are we decided to embrace them, twisting Ralph’s point of view from a fun, supportive girlfriend-pulling-you-out-of-a-breakup-stupor to a literal personification of vices used as self medication. The result is an goofy, hallucinatory odyssey about addiction and consumerism. We owe a shout out to the talking can from Wet Hot American Summer – a key source of inspiration – as well as the talented David Hrycun, who put hours of hard work into building our giant props."

"Let the directors do their thing, and they came back with something exceptional," Harrison told Okayplayer.
