VanJess Get Us Hooked On Their Melodies In New Video “Addicted”
Directed by Johnny Leflare, Ivana and Jessica Nwokike pose and perform in all the right ways for “Addicted,” a ‘90s vibe-inspired new video from the duo.
If I have written once then I have no problem writing it again, VanJess is one of the most engaging and invigorating breaths of fresh air in this alt-future-R&B sound that’s been going on the past few years. The sister duo—comprised of Ivana and Jessica Nwokike—have offered us some bops and worked alongside some fellow budding talent that the world should get familiar with now.
Adding to their growing discography, VanJess turns us into fiends with their new visual for their latest single, “Addicted,” which was directed by Johnny Leflare. Immersed in a colorful landscape, VanJess offer us ‘90s-fueled vibes with their fashionable outfits, dope-laced vocals, and hypnotizing production, courtesy of IAMNOBODI. The pair showcase their blend of melody and swagger that continues to separate them from the rest of the pack.
“‘Addicted’ represents the more R&B and hip-hop side of the album,” says VanJess. “The melodies and arrangement actually embody our core sound. When we created it, the rest of the album sort of just came together.”
A full-length debut album, which we will gladly stand on the corner and do hand-to-hands for in order to receive a taste.
