Usher Just Released a Tease of "Confessions 2"

This is not a drill.

Usher is gearing up for something epic.

The singer posted a cryptic but telling photo to his Instagram account Tuesday night with the caption, "Dis what yall want..." The shot featured him sitting in what appears to be a recording studio with a drawing board behind him that was blank, save for the words, "Confessions 2."

The tease obviously indicates that he's working on the sequel to his seminal 2004 album, Confessions.

His fourth studio album was a landmark project for a number of reasons. Critically acclaimed for the content's candidness and widely successful number wise. The album sold 1.1 million U.S. copies in its first week and earning Usher the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album.

It sold over eight million copies in 2004 and became the second-best selling album of the 2000s decade in the U.S. Confessions also is believed to have recovered album sales in the US, after the decline that preceded the release a few years prior. It went on to be certified Diamond by the RIAA) and went on to sell over 20 million copies worldwide.

Usher previously posted footage of himself in the studio with Jermaine Dupri, who produced the original Confessions. Dupri also went on Instagram Live and previewed a new song called “Believe.”

Usher's last full, solo project in Hard II Love was released in 2016. Last year, he dropped the collaborative project A, with Zaytoven.
