On Friday (Sept. 6), a Manhattan judge sentenced Tekashi 6ix9ine’s former manager, Kifano “Shotti” Jordan to 15 years of prison in his federal racketeering case.

Known as Shotti for the better part of 6ix9ine’s career, the ex-manager is a member of the infamous Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods and popularized the “treyway” catchphrase. Before he was arrested in the federal racketeering case, Jordan was involved in a fight with the security team of 6ix9ine’s label head Elliot Grainge. The rapper went on to fire Jordan and denounce him publically.

According to a report in Complex, Jordan received a five-year sentence in connection to the 2018 armed robbery in the lobby of the G-Unit office building of 6ix9ine’s mentor-turned-rival Scumlord D!zzy and a Rap-A-Lot affiliated rapper named Junya Boy. He received a 10-year sentence in connection to the Barclays Center shooting.

Jurors seated on the upcoming trial of Tekashi 6ix9ine’s former associates will view clips of three of the rapper’s videos, a judge ruled Wednesday (Sept. 4).

According to PageSix, Manhattan federal court judge Paul Engelmeyer who is overseeing the racketeering trial against two of the Brooklyn rapper’s associates reportedly said he’d only allow jurors to see snippets of his music videos “Billy,” “GUMMO” and “KOODA” during a trial because they are filled with “rank misogyny.”

Prosecutors are reportedly being allowed to play certain portions from the music videos to prove their case against reputed Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods Anthony Ellison and Aljermiah Mack.

6ix9ine’s attorney Dawn Florio told HipHopDX, jury selection is slated to begin September 16.

6ix9ine is expected to testify against Nine Trey Gangsta Blood affiliates “Harv” Ellison and Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack. Prosecutors believe Ellison kidnapped and robbed the rapper last July.

Ellison’s attorney Devereaux Cannic suggested the abduction of 6ix9ine was faked. “No robbery or kidnapping or assault happened,” Cannick said in a Manhattan courthouse last month. “He was about to drop another album … gotta get that buzz up. That’s how he makes money.”
