Fifteen years ago, T.I. released his sophomore album Trap Muzik. It’s one of the greatest rap albums of all time.
T.I. recently visited the NPR offices in Washington, DC. There he celebrated the anniversary of his magnum opus by doing a three-song set, from three of his most popular albums.
T.I. performed “Rubber Band Man,” from Trap Muzik; “What You Know,” from King; and “Live Your Life,” which was on Paper Trail. There were some bumpy moments — it’s pretty clear that T.I. does not remember all the words to these songs — but it’s cool seeing the rapper backed by the mini-orchestra from the non-profit Atlanta Music Project.
