SZA opens fire in a surreal Nabil-directed video, opens up in a revealing new interview

Following yet another assist from Insecure (2-for-2 in its second season,) SZA has released a dreamy new video for "Supermodel."

Directed by Nabil, the third video from the TDE singer's critically-adored debut album, Ctrl, finds SZA in full-on revery, following fairies through a forest and blasting roman candles from her fingertips at the taunt of romance. The singer also detailed the cognitive blockage behind the album's two-year delay in an intimate new interview with The Guardian that mostly took place in the bathroom of a house in south London.

Claiming to have scrutinized her own work to the point of regression, SZA explains that if Punch (co-founder and president of Top Dawg Entertainment) hadn't literally snatched the hard drive from the studio vault,  Ctrl would have likely been an entirely different beast and that her "I actually quit" declaration came at a point when frustrations over the album's release had peaked.
