Listen to Sampa the Great's Debut Album "The Return"

The Zambian Australia-based rapper has received praise from the likes of Lauryn Hill and Kendrick Lamar.

Sampa the Great just released her debut studio album, The Return.

The 19-track project is her debut for Ninja Tune and the follow-up to her 2017 Birds & The BEE9 mixtape. The LP includes her previously released singles "Energy" featuring Nadeem Din-Gabisi and "Final Form."

The 26-year-old Zambian Australia-based rapper has said the album was inspired by the intersection of her experiences in Australia, where she cultivated her career, and her native country Zambia. Its soundscape fuses  funk, soul, R&B, hip-hop, spoken word, and traditional folk chants.
