Stream Parliament’s First New Album in Almost 40 Years

Parliament is back for one more ride

The last time Parliament released a new album, Jimmy Carter was still president, The Empire Strikes Back had just been released, and Gucci Mane was just a Gucci Infant.

That album was Trombipulation, and it was released on December 5, 1980. That was the album when Bassist Bootsy Collins really broke out as a star.

We haven’t seen a new album of new material from the group in almost 40 years.

That changed on Tuesday when Parliament released their new album, Medicaid Fraud Dogg. The release of the album comes a couple of days before their May 26 live performance at the L.A. Greek Theater. That performance will kick off George Clinton’s final world tour.

George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic will tour the globe for the next year. Clinton’s last performance will be in May 2019, after which the Parliament-Funkadelic group will continue without George.

Speaking on this new album, George Clinton said:

“I had to get this music out there…I felt real creative urgency to give the world this, right now.”
