Stevie Wonder will be taking some downtime from the road in the months ahead to prepare for a kidney transplant in September.
The soul legend announced the upcoming procedure to a crowd at London’s BST festival Saturday night, assuring them he remained in good spirits: “I have a donor and it’s all good. I want you to know, I came here to give you my love and thank you for your love. You ain’t got to hear no rumors. I told you what’s up. I am good. I love you and God bless you.”
Wonder will perform three more shows before the touring hiatus. He’s at Dublin’s 3Arena on Tuesday, July 9th, but hasn’t confirmed the remaining dates.
