Listen As Squeeze Radio Shares This Throwback Sean Price Verse
The popular underground NYC program, Squeeze Radio, celebrated life by sharing a rare verse from Sean Price on what was also his birthday at the time.
One of the greatest underground hip-hop radio shows of all time, Squeeze Radio, has finally given the people what they want: past online episodes featuring the icons and legends of the culture. For those unfamiliar with the program, the hip-hop radio show originally hosted by Sucio Smash and Timm See (Timmohotep Aku), had the culture in a chokehold.
Guests big, small, on-the-come-up and established have cut their teeth and original verses on the program. The dynamic duo made every Friday a must-listen event with special surprise guests and never-before-heard songs. One of those guests, a man who is sorely missed by us and the culture, Sean Price, had his birthday commemorated by Suce and Squeeze Radio, as they released this cherished episode from March 17, 2005.
The episode marked the show’s second anniversary and featured some very interesting and noteworthy guests.
Duck Down, who was definitely in the building, were ecstatic to reach 10 years in the hip-hop game. The late, great Pumpkinhead was there to witness everything that went down. The U.N. with Roc Marciano delivered an epic freestyle. An unknown, up-and-coming MC by the name of D-Cypha also appeared on that episode. If you knew then that that MC was actually Genius’ Rob Markman would you be surprised? You shouldn’t… hip-hop has been in that man’s blood since inception.
Elsewhere on the episode there are appearances from Wordsworth, Jeru The Damaja, Planet Asia and more.
