Spike Lee To Celebrate Prince’s Life In Brooklyn With “Purple People Party 3”
Spike Lee and DJ Spinna connect for another celebration of Prince’s life and legacy with “Purple People Party 3,” for June 9th in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn.
Spike Lee annual celebration of Prince and his life, music, and legacy has been a welcomed event for the natives and newcomers to Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. With DJ Spinna on the 1s-and-2s, Spike hosts this look that has been likened to a fuschia festival for the fun-loving freak-flag-flyers. The inaugural event caught so much fire that CNN live streamed it for the rest of the world to see.
The third installment, “Purple People Party 3,” will return once more to drop the funky jams courtesy of DJ Spinna on June 9.
For those not in the know, Spike worked with Prince twice during his career. The first time was when Spike directed his “Money Don’t Matter 2 Night” video, and then later, when Prince created new music for Spike Lee’s Girl 6 film. So, whether you live on the block or are visiting New York City for the summer, “Purple People Party 3” should be where you’re at when it jumps off at Restoration Plaza on Herkimer Street between New York and Brooklyn Avenues from 12-noon to 7:00 p.m.
