Snoop Dogg recently posted a preview of a new track seemingly aimed at Eminem.

Back in July, Snoop Doggmade headlines after he said Eminem wouldn't make the list for his top 10 rappers of all time.

The offhand comment seems to have created some ripple effects.

“[Dr. Dre] has probably put Eminem in the position to where he could be like labeled as one of Top 10 rappers ever,” Snoop originally said during an interview with The Breakfast Club. “I don’t think so, but the game feels like he’s Top 10 lyricist and all that comes with it but that’s just because he’s with Dr. Dre and Dr. Dre helped him find the best Eminem he could find."

Snoop went on to mention rappers from the 1980s that he would place ahead of Eminem. “There’s some niggas in the ’80s he can’t fuck with,” he continued. “Like Rakim, like Big Daddy Kane, like KRS-One, like LL Cool J. Shall I go on? Like Ice Cube.”

On December 18, Em dropped the deluxe edition of his latest album, Music to Be Murdered By. On the track "Zeus," Em rapped about the snub. "As far as squashing beef, I'm used to people knocking me," he said. "But, just not in my camp/And diplomatic as I'm tryna be/Last thing I need is Snoop dogging me/Man, Dogg, you was like a damn God to me/Nah, not really/I had 'dog' backwards/But I'm starting to think, all these people takin’ shots at me/Shit, it's no wonder.”

Shortly after he dropped "Zeus," Eminem explained that he wasn't offended by all of Snoop's comments, but the way he put it did rub him the wrong way.

"Everything he said was fine, up to a point," Em said in a New Year's Eve interview on Shade 45. "Him saying Dre made the best version of me, absolutely, why would I have a problem with that? Would I be here without Dre? Fuck no, I wouldn’t. The rappers he mentioned from the ‘90s — KRS One, Big Daddy Kane, [Kool] G Rap — I’ve never said I could fuck with them... it was the last statement where he said, 'Far as music I can live without, I can live without that shit,’” he said. “Now you’re being disrespectful. It just caught me off-guard."

An Eminem fan account on Instagram recently posted about "Zeus," asking if Snoop was being disrespectful when he made his original comments. "Pray I don't answer that soft ass shit," Snoop replied in the comments.

On Tuesday, an Eminem fansite posted a video of Snoop playing a snippet that seems to be a response. In the track, Snoop makes references to Kamikazeand "Superman," titles of an Eminem album and song. (We should note — this is an Eminem-focused site, and the video has allegedly been floating around for months.)

This tension might have been building up for a while now.

In a conversation on Clubhouse on January 5, Daz Dillinger and Royce the 5'9 discussed what could be behind the conflict. According to Daz, Eminem turned down a feature request from Snoop, after they'd recorded "Bitch Please II" from Eminem's Marshall Mathers LP. "They told him no," Daz said. "Snoop felt some type of way, like I did all this and all that, and you tell me no?"
