Silk Sonic is Hosting Their Own Radio Show

The duo's new album, An Evening With Silk Sonic, features appearances from Bootsy Collins, Thundercat, and James Fauntleroy.

Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars are celebrating their debut album as Silk Sonic with a new radio show.

Hosted by the duo and named after the freshly-released studio outing, An Evening With Silk Sonic, the show debuted last night on Apple Music with an hour-long sequence of heavily-sampled soul and essential funk that influenced their sessions. There's even a few drop-ins from Bootsy Collins, the guiding spirit/narrator of the project. .Paak and Mars will host three more weekly episodes before signing off for good. Expect eclectic sets and cameos galore. "We had so much fun that we’ve decided to retire from music and become full time radio personalities, Mars says in a trailer for the show.

The show arrives just short of a week since the release of the group's new album, which landed on November 12th on the heels of a massive hit with "Leave The Door Open," which earned .Paak his first Billboard No. 1. This week, the album is projected to debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart with 102,000 equivalent album units, eclipsed by an absolutely towering (570,000 copy) opening week for Taylor Swift's rerecorded (Red,) which sparked a pretty hilarious back and forth between .Paak and Mars on Twitter (see below.)
