An aspiring filmmaker sued Simmons in January alleging sexual assault.

One of the women who sued Russell Simmons for sexual assault has dropped her claims. According to The Hollywood Reporter a stipulation of dismissal was filed by both parties on Wednesday.

This comes months after the woman named Jennifer Jarosik filed a $5 million lawsuit against the media mogul in January, alleging he raped her in 2016 after inviting her to his home to discuss a documentary film project.

The lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice, meaning the woman can't refile. Dismissals with prejudice also typically mean a settlement was made.

In April, Simmons was on file arguing their sexual relationship was consensual.

Simmons is still facing a $10 million suit from an anonymous woman who claims he raped her and threatened her son. Simmons has gone on record saying the allegations are "vile" and that the lawsuit is an extortion attempt. He also argues that the alleged incident occurred in the late 1980s and the woman's lawsuit is barred by the statute of limitations.
