Last December, Black Thought spit the freestyle of 2017 on the Funkmaster Flex Show on Hot 97.

Now, just days before he is set to release PRhyme 2, Royce Da 5’9 just tried to lock up that best freestyle of 2018 title early.

Hot 97 has just released a vicious new freestyle from the Detroit rapper. Joined by his PRhyme 2 partner DJ Premier, who was on the ones and twos, Royce spit for over 10 minutes over Nas‘ “New York State of Mind” beat.

There were so many punchlines. It’s hard to keep count. Some of our favorites include:
