DMX is on Life Support After Suffering a Heart Attack

DMX has been hospitalized in White Plains, NY and is currently in the intensive care unit.

Send up a prayer for DMX. The Yonkers rap legend is reportedly in critical condition after suffering from an overdose in his home last night. According to TMZ, the rapper has been hospitalized in White Plains, NY and is currently in the intensive care unit. The report claims the overdose triggered a heart attack and sources are split on whether he'll pull through.

According to ABC7, DMX's attorney, Murray Richman, has confirmed the rapper was put on life support at a White Plains hospital after suffering a heart attack. DMX's manager, ex-manager, Nakia Walker, told the New York Times on Sunday that he was in a “vegetative state.”

Fans and friends rushed to social media this morning to wish the rapper a speedy recovery. "Prayers up for DMX, the legend. Let's put that in the sky," said Rick Ross in an Instagram story (see below.) Producer and longtime collaborator, Swizz Beatz, also posted a photo of the rapper in the studio early Saturday morning but quickly removed it.

The story is still developing. Stay tuned for updates in the hours ahead.

On Monday, a vigil is happening outside of White Plains hospital where the rapper is getting his care. There are hundreds of people at the vigil, including his DMX's fiancee, Desiree, and their son, Exodus, according to TMZ.
