Jason Mason, the former manager to R. Kelly, gave himself up to authorities in Georgia on Friday. He was wanted on a warrant related to threats he allegedly made against the father of one of Kelly’s accusers, according to CNN.
Mason is accused of threatening Timothy Savage, the father of a girl named Jocelyn, who is featured in the Surviving R. Kelly documentary series. The father had previously recounted a call he received from Mason in May to the police, where the manager told him the following:
“I’m gonna do harm to you and your family, when I see you I’m gonna get you, I’m gonna (expletive) kill you.”
A warrant was latter issued on Mason for “terroristic threats and acts.”
In related news, Kelly has been dropped from Sony following the release of Surviving R. Kelly. The Chicago R&B singer is facing backlash in light of Surviving R. Kelly, the Lifetime documentary series that featured interviews with over 50 people about Kelly, many of whom were women who detailed the artist’s alleged long history of sexual, physical, and mental abuse.
