R. Kelly is currently now under criminal investigation.
According to a report in TMZ, sources connected to the case say the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office in Georgia has opened an investigation into allegations made against the singer in “Surviving R. Kelly.” The probe was reportedly launched over the past few days as a direct result of what was depicted in the docu-series.
“Surviving R. Kelly” aired on Lifetime last weekend and chronicled the decades of sexual, physical, and mental abuse allegations made against R. Kelly. The doc included about 50 interviews from women, former employees, famous figures, experts, and relatives of the singer.

TMZ reports investigators have reached out to several survivors featured in the TV doc. It’s been confirmed that investigators reached out to Asante McGee, one of the women who claimed to have escaped captivity in R. Kelly’s Atlanta home, where more women and girls are alleged to still be held.
The attorney for the family of Joycelyn Savage, one of the women believed to still be under Kelly’s control, has also been speaking to investigators. Savage appeared in a video interview with TMZ denouncing claims of “sex cult” activity at R. Kelly’s home.

According to a new police report obtained by The Blast, R. Kelly’s manager, Don Russell, has been actively threatening and intimidating people people close to the singer’s alleged victims.
Russell called Savage’s father, Timothy, before Surviving premiered, say if his family continued to participate with the show, he would distribute information that would “ruin him, his reputation, businesses, and family.”
The officer who filed the report was reportedly present for a call Russell made to Timothy. The case is currently being looked into by the criminal investigation department.
TMZ reports investigators have been inundated with calls since the docu-series aired and are asking for contact information from people who either have information or who have lived in R. Kelly’s former Atlanta home.
