Queen Latifah Comments on Nicki Minaj's Retirement: "Let Her Live"

The rap legend addressed the other rap legend's announcement that she'll be retiring to start a family.

Last week, Nicki Minaj announced she'd be retiring from music to focus on starting a family with her partner, Kenneth Petty.

After the abrupt statement on Twitter, Minaj apologized, calling the sudden announcement "insensitive" to her fans and promised to address the decision on a forthcoming episode of Queen Radio.

Queen Latifah commented on the announcement in support. A TMZ cameraman asked her for her thoughts and she responded saying, she "must be in love and happy," and adding, "Let her live, she's been grinding for a long time."

Latifah also noted rappers' tendency to continue rapping, saying, "Once you're a rapper, you're always a rapper. She'll be back."
