Pusha T Wants to Win a Grammy For His Upcoming 'Gangsta Grillz' Mixtape

In a brief interview with Complex, Pusha T spoke about his upcoming Gangsta Grillz mixtape, a Clipse reunion and more.

Following Tyler, the Creator's lead, Pusha T aims to win a Grammy with his Gangsta Grillz debut. While attending the Matthew M. Williams’ Fall/Winter 2023 Givenchy show during Men's Fashion Week in Paris, the It's Almost Dry rapper spoke with Complex, teasing his collaborative project with DJ Drama and the possibility of a Clipse reunion.

"Man. I just feel like to me, the Gangsta Grillz and the whole mixtape culture and scene is what I’m about. That’s the purest form of hip-hop to me," Push responded when asked about pursuing a Gangsta Grillz project. "So it’s like the fact that Drama is having so much success, the fact that that’s what I love in hip-hop. I want to merge those worlds and see what happens. I’m going to be honest with you, seeing Drama’s mixtape with Tyler and how they won a Grammy, I was like, man, mixtapes really won a Grammy. So I’m trying to be a part of that culture as well."

Push's latest LP is nominated in the Best Rap Album category at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, up against DJ Khaled (God Did), Jack Harlow (Come Home the Kids Miss You), Future (I Never Liked You) and Kendrick Lamar (Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers). During his chat with Complex, Push acknowledged the latter two artists for being his favorite Best Rap Album nominees.

Push, who appeared with twin brother No Malice for the 20th anniversary ComplexCon panel of Clipse's debut album Lord Willin', ended the conversation with acknowledging a long-awaited group reunion. Clipse's last televised performance was during the 2022 BET Hip-Hop Awards.

"I’m not sure, but I’m pressing it. I’m pressing it," he said. "But I’m glad you were there and I’m glad that you saw it. Because a lot of people think that I don’t be pressing the issue. But I really do."
