Tip and Prince trade verses on a Neptunes flip.

Nearly two decades after its initial release, The Neptunes remix of Prince's "The Greatest Romance Ever Sold" is finally available to stream.

The original single was released in October of 1999 under the unpronounceable "Love Symbol" moniker as a lead-up to what would be dubbed as The Purple One's "comeback" record, Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic. The remix features a verse from Q-Tip that was recorded at Paisley Park sometime between 1996 and 1998, but remained exclusive to the 12" pressing of the single until this week.

Thought it's his only known collaboration with the late icon, Pharrell seemed poised to, at some point, rekindle the magic of their Chanhassen session. Last year, he revealed in an interview with Clash that he'd once hoped Prince would sing the hook on his 2003 solo breakout, "Frontin." Sadly, that didn't pan out.
