The singer-songwriter's last EP, Seven Days dropped in 2017.

Canadian R&B singer PARTYNEXTDOOR confirmed the release of his latest studio album on Twitter this morning with a tweet consisting of one cryptic line "Album in January." There was no mention of a name, but the project's name has long been rumored to be "Club Atlantis."

With his last release as a lead artist, the Seven Days EP, coming out in 2017, many have spent the last two years asking "what happened to PARTYNEXTDOOR?" Today's announcement comes 5 days after the OVO artist rolled out 2 new singles, "Loyal" with Drake and "The News." As of writing, these songs have accumulated over 7 million streams on Spotify since their release a sign of things to come for the album in January.

The singer-songwriter and producer originally emerged on the music scene back in 2013 with his memorable mixtape PARTYNEXTDOOR. It featured staple tracks like "Welcome to the Party," "Right Now" and "Over Here" with Drake. His sound was reminiscent of The Weeknd's House Of Balloons and Echoes Of Silence mixtapes. Both artists were part of the era where musicians were emerging and gaining traction on platforms like SoundCloud and Tumblr.

What followed this project was PARTYNEXTDOOR TWO in 2014 which continued his eclectic artistry. It was filled with rough cuts and R&B-centric vocals. Standout tracks on PND2 include "East Liberty," "FWU" and "Wus Good/Curious" and "Thirsty." Miami and locations in the city were a point of inspiration for a few of the tracks. In 2014, the album PNDCOLOURS surfaced on Soundcloud with "Girl From Oakland," "Let's Get Married," "Jus Know," and "Don't Worry" with Cash Out.

After this drop, he released PARTYNEXTDOOR 3 in 2016 which was met with critical acclaim. This album was equipped with exploratory songs like "Brown Skin," "1942" and the popular single "Come and See Me" featuring Drake.

The multi-hyphenate's last major release was in 2017, Seven Days which featured fleshed out production and his cult favorite vocals. COLOURS 2, a mixtape also dropped in 2017. It came with four songs, one popular track on it "Freak in You" has over 24 million streams on Spotify.
