The event is to celebrate three decades of hip-hop, as well as highlight the Native Tongues hip-hop collective.

Original members of the Native Tongues hip-hop collective are coming together for a special performance in D.C.

The inaugural Native Tongue Fest: Celebrating 30 Years of Hip-Hop event, will feature performances from the Jungle Brothers, Monie Love, Black Sheep, Brand Nubian, and Leaders of the New School. De La Soul's Maseo and A Tribe Called Quest's Jarobi White will also be making appearances, according to a press release.

The Native Tongue Fest will take place July 18 at D.C.'s The Anthem. Ticket prices range from $85 to $125 and are available to purchase at The Anthem's website. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The American Diabetes Association in honor of the late Phife Dawg.

A hip-hop collective formed in the late '80s, Native Tongues' principal members are the Jungle Brothers, A Tribe Called Quest, and De La Soul. Other members included Queen Latifah, Monie Love, Black Sheep and Chi-Ali.

In related news, De La Soul member Trugoy called the rap trio "the greatest group ever" during a performance a few months back.

"I recently heard some people talking about being the greatest group ever and I think there’s some amazing groups out there but the idea is being a group. I think right now we’re probably the only group in hip-hop that stayed together," Trugoy said during a set at this year's SXSW before continuing:

“There are many out there that claims they’re th greatest groups even as recent as the Migos, I believe, said something. And that’s cool because they’ve accomplished so much those, guys are doing amazing things. But you could only say that when you’ve been here 31 years, OK? I’m sorry to say, that today we claim being the greatest group ever because we stuck together and we’re a group first.”
