Mick Jenkins Announces New Album, Links with Kaytranada on “Understood”

Pieces of a Man arrives on October 26th

After months of teasing, Mick Jenkins has officially announced his next album, Pieces of a Man, will arrive on October 26th via Cinematic Music Group.

HEAR: Mick Jenkins and Kaytranada Connect on “What Am I To Do”

The announcement arrives with the dreamy twang of the new single, “Understood,” produced by longtime collaborator Kaytranada, who also matched the Chicago rapper’s rapid-fire release with a smooth soul chop on the previous single “What Am I To Do.” Pieces of a Man follows Jenkins’ 2016 studio album, The Healing Component, and the Soundcloud-exclusive series, or more. The new track is fit with a visual accompaniment that charts the exchange between generations of fathers and sons, directed by Nick Walker.

HEAR: Listen to Kaytranada’s Mesmerizing Remix of Kelela’s “Waitin’”
