The Bay's Own Elbows Mixes Glorious Sounds On "Think Twice" [Premiere]
If you haven’t heard of the name Max Schieble, a.k.a. Elbows, then now is the perfect time to get familiar. This Brooklyn-based, Bay Area-born storyteller is a jack-of-all-trades. From working with Tribeca as a contributing editor to showcasing his skills as an illustrator — Max creates wondrous works of art using his imagination, blended sounds and more.
Today, Apr. 9, we’re ecstatic to premiere “Think Twice,” the first track from his debut EP, Corduroy, which is slated for release May 19. As a multimedia artist fueled by his limitless originality, “Think Twice,” mixes hip-hop, electronic production and jazz instrumentation to make an elevated pop sound that will be satisfactory to your earholes. “For a few years I was in the passenger seat of this on-again/off-again relationship, never being the one to make the call whether it was on or off,” Elbows said.
“This song was my way of taking the stand that I couldn’t bring myself to take in reality, and say, hey, really make up your mind this time.” To celebrate the effort, Elbows will make a special product collection, a collaboration with New York’s Pintrill to make a customized pin to rock while you’re jamming out to “Think Twice”.
Listen to “Think Twice” below, and keep an eye out for Corduroy when it comes out May 19.
