Do you think you can rap better than Freddie Gibbs? Now is your chance to prove yourself. Seven months after Freddie Gibbs and Madlib released their excellent Bandana album, the duo dropped Bandana Beats, an album that features instrumentals of all the songs on the album.
Not only can you stream Bandana Beats on all major streaming platforms — including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube — you can also cop the album on vinyl. The always mysterious Madlib has given a good amount of interviews since Bandanna was released. However, he hasn’t talked a lot about the process of how he makes some of his production.
The closest he got came in a couple of tweets he sent out a couple of days after the album dropped. Madlib revealed that he made the beats for Bandana on his iPad:
This is the second new drop to come from Madlib this month. A couple of weeks ago Madlib and his younger brother Oh No released their first collaborative album together as The Professionals, via The Beat Konducta’s Madlib Invazion imprint.
Stream Bandana Beats below. And if you want to rap over them just make sure your rhymes are right.
