The singer claims she came up with the idea first.

Lorde took to Instagram stories on Monday (November 12th) to accuse Kanye West and Kid Cudi of stealing her floating glass box idea. Kanye and Cudi, who performed as Kids See Ghostsfor the first time over the weekend, used the levitating glass box at the 2018 Camp Flog Gnaw festival in LA.

The singer posted a picture of their set from their performance on Sunday night (November 11th) along with her own set design as a comparison. The two boxes are pretty similar. In the caption, she wrote:

I'm proud of the work I do and it's flattering when other artists feel inspired by it, to the extent that they choose to try it on themselves. But don't steal – not from women or anyone else – not in 2018 or ever.

Lorde has used the set in many of her performances throughout her Melodrama world tour. The floating stage also made an appearance during her 2017 Coachella performance.

Kanye has also employed the use of a floating stage during his Saint Pablo Tour in 2016.
