Benny The Butcher Links with Lil Wayne and Big Sean on New Single "Timeless"

The Griselda rapper shares the first single from his upcoming collaborative project with Hit-Boy, Burden of Proof.

Just a few months after co-hosting the debut tape from his Black Soprano Family, Benny The Butcher is already on to the next one.

Today, the Buffalo rapper shared the new single "Timeless," the glistening campaign-starter for Burden of Proof, an upcoming collaborative project with super producer, Hit-Boy. The track features steel-toed verses from Lil Wayne and Big Sean, respectively, trading bars with the Griselda star on a beat that was created  (and eventually passed on) for Jay-Z and Kanye West's 2011 collaborative album, Watch The Throne.

Hit-Boy detailed the track's creation in an Instagram post on Thursday. "Aight so I wanna let all my producer Homies know you should never give up on any of your ideas," the producer wrote. He goes on to add "The beat for This new [Benny The Butcher] single ft [Lil Wayne] and [Big Sean] dropping tomorrow was made in 2011 at the Mercer hotel for JAY-Z and Kanye West." Though it didn't get picked for Watch The Throne, Hit-Boy still managed a massive splash on the album, producing the irreverent and iconic non-single, "Ni**as in Paris," which commenced a decade-long run of platinum productions for A-list rappers and singers, including Drake, Travis Scott, Beyonce, Lil Wayne, and the late Nipsey Hussle, the latter of which won the award for "Best Rap Performance" at the 2020 Grammys.

Hit-Boy also helmed a new Nas album earlier this year, producing the entirety of the rap legend's 2020 project, King's Disease, which featured appearances from Anderson .Paak, Charlie Wilson, AZ, Foxy Brown and more.
