Eternal Atake is the follow-up to the rapper's 2017 release Luv Is Rage 2.

The last time Philadelphia-bred rapper Lil Uzi Vert graced the industry with a full-length release was Luv Is Rage 2 in 2017, now he's dropped his long-awaited album Eternal Atake. Uzi manages to rise from the ashes to give his fans an exemplary project proving his growth as an artist.

The 18-track album is an expansive experience marked by the experimental sound Uzi has come to be known for. “Baby Pluto” is the perfect introduction track, over an easygoing beat he shares his affinity for outpacing his peers, being laced in expensive designer pieces all while chasing beautiful women. Syd is the lone feature on the album on the mellow song “Urgency.” Immediately after the project dropped fans shared their positive thoughts on the project via social media.

His delivery on tracks like “Silly Watch” and “You Better Move” expertly displays what the industry was missing while he was on his hiatus. Comme des Garçons and Vetements, two favorite designers of Uzi’s are name-dropped on “Silly Watch.” The track “You Better Move” is a clear standout, Genius shares its beat was created with samples from the 2000s computer game: 3D Pinball for Windows Space Cadet.

Over on “Homecoming” another personal favorite of ours from the album Uzi flexes his ability to command a beat with his vocals. This track is catchy and we can imagine it being played at kickbacks and day parties this summer.

“Futsal Shuffle 2020” appears as a bonus song, though it arrived in December, it aged well and is still a staple rap song for 2020. After all, it inspired a viral dance challenge. Another bonus song “That Way” samples the Backstreet Boys beloved 1999 song “I Want It That Way,” Uzi steals the shine from the group years later with this remake.

Two days ago Uzi released an otherwordly, futuristic short film as he geared up for the release of Eternal Atake. An explosion, an alternate universe and the artist wandering in a field alone are significant portions of the clip. He is heralded as a leader before the end of the film, this ultimately epitomizes how Uzi reinvigorates hip-hop with every album he drops.
