Kid Cudi to Star in Opioid Epidemic Thriller "Dreamland" in 2020

Dreamland is slated to hit theaters in 2020.

Kid Cudi is hitting the big screen.

The Kids See Ghosts rapper was cast in a new movie entitled Dreamland, according to a report in Deadline. Cudi will play an FDA investigator in the film, which is said to examine the opioid addiction endemic in the U.S.

The Nicholas Jarecki thriller also stars Avatar star Sam Worthington, Game of Thrones actress Indira Varma, Gary Oldman, Michelle Rodriguez, Armie Hammer, Evangeline Lilly, Greg Kinnear, and Lily-Rose Depp.

The film, which is currently being filming in Montreal, is set out to cover all angles of the opioid crisis and follows three colliding stories: a drug trafficker with a multi-cartel Fentanyl smuggling operation, a person recovering from OxyContin addiction with a son involved in narcotics; and a university professor uncovering his drug company employer introducing a new “non-addictive” painkiller to market.

But this won't be Cudi's first time acting. He previously appeared in a plethora of films and TV shows including, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, One Tree Hill, and How To Make It In America.
