KAYTRANADA Blesses Fans With Instrumental-Only Version of 'BUBBA'

KAYTRANADA previously said he wanted to release another album soon.

Nine months after the surprise release of his album BUBBA, KAYTRANADA has dropped the instrumental-only edition of the project.

"The instrumental version of BUBBA is available now," he wrote on Instagram. "This one's for all the people like me who are obsessed with instrumentals. Enjoy. Have fun."

The album featured guest appearances from Pharrell, Mick Jenkins, Tinashe, Estelle, Kali Uchis, Iman Omari, Masego, and more. The album was recently placed on the short list for the Polaris Prize, Canada's annual award for best album.

In an interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Music's Beats One, KAYTRANADA revealed he still wanted to release the leftover tracks from the album. "A whole album," he said when asked how much music was left over. "There's just so many tracks that didn't make it, I intended to put it out in two parts, I'm definitely going to do something different on the next one."

The leftover tracks included features from Anderson .Paak and UK rapper Rat Boy. "The thing is," he continued, "the next one is just what didn't make the album and other instrumentals in between. So that's going to be a more personal one. And I think I'm going to drop it just in a couple of months. I'm not going to make it that long of a wait."

At the time of the interview, KAYTRANADA said sample clearances were the only hurdle left to clear regarding the project's release. Stay tuned for further updates.
