Kanye West and JAY-Z’s “Jail” has won the “Best Rap Song” award at the 2022 Grammys.
The stacked category featured a few notable tracks including J. Cole’s “My Life,” DMX’s “Bath Salts,” Saweetie’s bop “Best Friend,” and Baby Keem’s “Family Ties.” West and JAY-Z’s collaboration was undoubtedly a standout on Donda.
West reportedly was set to perform at tonight’s award show, yet his online behavior prompted the Recording Academy to pull this offer. “Concerning online behavior,” was exactly how his actions were described. He was also recently suspended from Instagram.
This isn’t Kanye’s only win of the evening, prior to “Jail” winning, “Hurricane” by West, The Weeknd, and Lil Baby was awarded “Best Melodic Rap Performance.” The Chicago-bred rapper is also nominated for “Album Of The Year,” Donda was also nominated for “Best Rap Album” but was beat out by Tyler, the Creator’s Call Me If You Get Lost.
JAY-Z now has 22 Grammys. With his newest awards, Kanye West currently has 24 Grammys, prior to tonight he only had 22.
