It appears Kanye‘s allegedly imminent Jesus is King album will have a documentary component.
Announced and previewed at a surprise album listening party in Detroit’s Fox Theater on Friday night, the film will chronicle the rapper leading a Sunday Service performance at a new James Turrell installation in Arizona’s Painted Desert. It’s slated for an October 25th release in IMAX theaters. Yesterday, a poster for the documentary was released. You can see it below.
According to a report from the Fox Theater performance, Jesus is King: A Kanye West Film, is one of two upcoming IMAX-exclusive docs from the rapper. The other will chart his dome development projects in Calabasas. West has yet to reveal a title for that film.
Though it’s expected to be released at some point today after a listening party in NYC, details on the new album are still pretty thin. We do know, however, that the final track on Jesus is King features a Clipse reunion and a cameo from Kenny G.
