West has been particularly attentive and generous towards the problems plaguing his hometown as of late. Earlier this month, the rapper donated a whopping $200,000 towards the campaign of Democratic mayoral candidate, Amara Enyia, who is seeking to replace Rahm Emanuel in the 2019 election.

Earlier this month, West pushed back the release of YANDHI, a new album (that would mark his third of the year,) originally slated for a November drop. A new date has yet to be announced.
