K.Gaines Gets Ras Kass & Lyric Jones On ‘Ticket To Elsewhere’ Standout Cut, “Cook That Bass”
Brooklyn MC K.Gaines connects with Los Angeles’ own Maxwell Benson for their Priority / Capitol Records cut, “Cook That Bass,” which features some hip-hop heavy hitters.
K.Gaines is a creative genius who doesn’t get his just due whenever he puts out material. From the hilariously, action-packed film, Kung-Fu Bum, which he starred in and wrote, to his upcoming collaborative EP with Maxwell Benson titled, Ticket To Elsewhere — K.Gaines deserves not only your ears attention, but your coins as well.
The recently signed Priority / Capitol Records signee has risen the level of his skill set and unleashed his new wave on the masses in the form of “Cook That Bass,” a brand spanking fresh single featuring Ras Kass and Lyric Jones. With plans on dropping Ticket To Elsewhere this year, “Cook That Bass” is a welcomed sound from the Bed-Stuy lyrical beat and all-around plug.
The song comes on the heels of the release of visuals from Ticket To Elsewhere’s first single, “Opulence,” which promises to be the first of five EPs Gaines plans to drop in 2018 alone. Each project will be a collaboration with a producer from a different region of the U.S. If he is ever trying to connect with someone from the Midwest, our hope is that Gaines and No I.D. get in the studio and make some significant crack music together.
Gaines’ last album, Rumspringa: The Wildman Chronicles, was an enjoyable playthrough, so it should come as no surprise that Ticket To Elsewhere is a far more intricate step in the right direction for the dazzling star-in-the-making.
Listen to “Cook That Bass” below, which also features Rass Kass and Lyric Jones, and keep an eye out for Ticket To Elsewhere to be available for copping sometime soon this year.
