Justine Skye and Seyvn Streeter covered Brandy and Monica‘s 1998 hit, “The Boy is Mine” over the weekend.
The singers performed their rendition of the classic at the Trumpet Awards in Atlanta during a tribute to Darkchild’s Rodney Jerkins, who produced the record over 20 years ago.
Jerkins, who’s worked with Aaliyah, Destiny’s Child, Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, and more, was honored with the Music Excellence Award during Saturday’s ceremony.
Streeter took on Brandy’s verses, while Skye sand Monica’s portion of the duet. Sky also went on to perform Monica’s hit “Angel of Mine.”
Dapper Dan, MC Lyte, and T.I. among others will also be honored at the ceremony which is set to air February 11 on Bounce TV.
