Matt Reeves’ upcoming take on the Caped Crusader just added another star to the roster.
According to an announcement from the director on Twitter, John Turturro has been cast as mob boss Carmine Falcone in The Batman. Created by the legendary Frank Miller (and based on The Godfather‘s Don Corleone,) Turturro’s Falcone joins a cast full of villains, with Colin Farrell onboard to portray The Penguin, Zoe Kravitz set to play Catwoman, and Paul Dano locked in to be The Riddler.
Reeves’ The Batman is slated for release in summer 2021, but you won’t have to wait that long to catch Turturro on the big screen again. His self-written, directed, and starring, spin-off to The Big Lebowski is expected to see a nationwide release early next year.
And in other Frank Miller news, the comic book legend’s Sin City franchise is getting the adapted for TV, with Robert Rodriguez in talks to reprise his directorial role. However, a timeline for production has yet to be revealed.
