Throughout the years, Jhené has put the pain of losing her brother in her music. In 2014, she released “For My Brother,” a song she dedicated to Miyagai. In 2015, she released the video for “Eternal Sunshine,” which featured images of Miyagai.

On Wednesday, Jhené released short film called Trip. The movie is partially biographical; it features a woman mourning the death of her brother. She meets a stranger who reminds her of her brother and the two go on a journey together.
Jhené wrote and co-directed the film with Tracy Oliver, one of the masterminds behind the box office smash Girls Trip.
