Quelle Chris took to Twitter on Sunday, Dec. 3, to announce that he proposed marriage to the awe-inspiring, devastating talented lyricist, Jean Grae.

Full disclosure: I love Jean Grae as a person, a rapper and a muh’fuckin’ force of nature. Her wit, charm and diabolical skills on the mic have made her a preeminent force in hip-hop, despite mainstream knuckleheads falling victim for the silicone arse and consumerized lyrics that make the culture less than it can potentially be. Despite all this, love conquers all, as last night, Dec. 3, the rapper Quelle Chris, also a mainstay on these OKP pages, professed that he proposed marriage to the South Africa-born, Brooklyn-raised MC.

…And she said yes!

“I just proposed to @JeanGreasy and she said yes!” he wrote on Twitter. Within moments, Jean responded with her own laisséz-fare tweet, writing, “Even though there was no pizza involved, I know you love pizza too. Love you.” With details scarce and yours truly not going to bug the couple as they enjoy pre-marital bliss, Grae and Chris had already shown off their skills as a unit on the track, “This Is What You Came For,” which they created for Marvel’s Black Panther comic in 2016 and their Goodnight Courtney multimedia project.

Several of their respective peers, including Open Mike Eagle, L’Orange and Busdriver, took to Twitter to congratulate the couple. You should do the same by reaching out to them on Twitter, while we haggle to get an invite to the wedding or party (save that coin, y’all!) that will surely be the event of the new year.
