JAY-Z is the next guest on Netflix’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman. On Monday we saw the first clip from the upcoming episode, which features JAY talking about some of his rap contemporaries, including Snoop Dogg and Eminem.
On Tuesday, a new clip from the interview premiered. It features JAY talking about his mother, Gloria Carter, coming out to him.
According to JAY, his mother told him she was gay and in love with her partner just eight months ago.
Of the moment, Jay said:
I mean, I really cried. That’s a real story. I cried because I was so happy for her that she was free.
Hov then said he recorded “Smile,” the song where he revealed that his mother was gay, a day later.
The next episode of David Letterman’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction is set to premiere on Netflix on April 6th.
