Janet Jackson has taken her signature hushed tones to new heights in a recent ASMR interview with 102.7KIISFM.
Along with soft, soothing, crinkling noises, she quietly opened up about her favorite current musicians being Daniel Caesar, H.E.R., and SZA, and her hopes to collaborate with Bruno Mars.
For the unfamiliar, ASMR stands for ‘Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response’ and according to Dictionary.com, the slang definition is as follows:
(ASMR) is a calming, pleasurable feeling often accompanied by a tingling sensation. This tingle is said to originate in a person’s head and spread to the spine (and sometimes the limbs) in response to stimulation. The stimuli that trigger ASMR vary from person to person. Some of the most common ones include whispers, white noise, lip smacking, having a person’s complete attention (as in having one’s hair cut by a hairdresser), and more.

Ms. Jackson also talked about her new track “Made For Now” featuring Daddy Yankee, noting her favorite lyric as “Love is in the rhythm, now we’re dancing with a whole new meaning. Love is on it’s way to fill you up, we’re made for now not tomorrow.”
