James Blake and Travis Scott Plummet into the Sunken Place in The “Mile High” Video

The Nabil-directed video takes cues from Get Out

James Blake and Travis Scott have unleashed the video for their latest link-up, “Mile High,” off Blake’s new album, Assume Form.

With Nabil at the helm, the visual fits a spacious Metro Boomin production to a cerebral accompaniment, following Blake and Scott down the hole into a very Sunken Place-ish internal dwelling after a chance run in over a cup of coffee. Between the teacup-stirring and the endless plummet into a shadowy abyss in the back of your brain, the “Mile High” video is not short on the Get Out references (something we should probably get used to in surrealist visual media at large.)

The track marks the second collaboration between Blake and Scott within the last year, following Astroworld‘s “STOP TRYING TO BE GOD” (which featured an appearance from Stevie fucking Wonder) and its visual drops just ahead of Scott’s halftime performance at Super Bowl roman numeral roman numeral this evening.
